1. Open Advanced network settings:

Open Settings and select Network & Internet from the menu options on the left. In the Advanced network settings section select the setting Change adapter options. A new Network Connections window will open.

2. Select Properties:

In the Network Connections window right-click the icon for the connection you want to change, such as Ethernet or Wi-Fi, and select Properties.

3. Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IP v4):

In the Properties window select the entry for Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IP v4). Then, click the Properties button.

4. Change the DNS server addresses:

In the Properties window for Internet Protocol Version 4, select the radio button for "Use the following DNS server addresses".

Note that there are fields for preferred and alternate DNS servers. The alternate server is used if the preferred one is unavailable or not responding quickly enough. Type the IP address 8.8.8.8 in the Preferred DNS Server field and 8.8.4.4 in the Alternate DNS Server field. Click OK to save the changes. Then, close the Properties window

2. View additional properties:

Select the entry for the type of connection you wish to modify, such as Ethernet or Wi-Fi. Then, select the option to View additional properties.

3. Change the DNS server addresses:

In the Properties screen, click the Edit button for DNS server assignment. A new "Edit DNS settings" window will display. In the "Edit DNS settings" window, click the dropdown menu for Automatic (DHCP) and change it to Manual. Turn on the switch for IPv4. Then, type the IP address 8.8.8.8 in the Preferred DNS field and the IP address 8.8.4.4 in the Alternate DNS field. Click the Save button to save the changes.
