AppStream - Exporting to Advantage
This is a guide for exporting invoices from SBMS to Advantage using AppStream. When exporting invoices it is important to set the correct out file path found under Default Settings. This guide will explain the workflow from exporting the invoices to your Home Folder in AppStream, then downloading them locally to be imported into Advantage.
Setting the Home Folder as the Out File Path:
1. In SBMS navigate to Tools in the blue bar, then choose Default Settings from the menu options.
2. Under the General tab, set the Out File Path to D:\username\My Files\Home Folder
NOTE: Username will be user's Strata username.
3. To select the home folder rather than typing in the Out File Path, click the lightning bolt icon to the right of the Out File Path bar.
4. The Browse For Folder window will open. Scroll down until you find This PC > Home Folder. Select the Home Folder and click OK.
6. The Out File Path will then be set to D:\username\My Files\Home Folder
Exporting from Schedule Status screen:
1. Enter the estimate information, select the correct schedule lines, and click the Bill button.
2. The Export Schedules to Advantage for Billing window will appear. Confirm the Out File Path is D:\username\My Files\Home Folder and the rest of the information in the window is correct. Then select OK.
3. The status of the selected schedule lines will change to Billed in the status column in SBMS.
4. Click on the My Files icon from the toolbar at the top and select the Home Folder.
5. The exported file(s) will be available to download locally. To download, select the file(s) by checking the box on the left, click on the Actions menu, and choose Download.
6. After the file(s) have been downloaded to your local machine, transfer them into Advantage.
Exporting from Invoicing Screen:
1. Enter the estimate information, select the correct invoices, and click Clear for Payment.
2. The Export Invoices to Advantage for Billing window will appear. Confirm the Out File Path is D:\username\My Files\Home Folder and the rest of the information in the window is correct. Then select OK.
3. The status of the invoice(s) will update to Cleared in the Status column.
4. Click on the My Files icon from the toolbar at the top of your screen and select the Home Folder.
5. The exported file(s) will be available to download locally. To download, select the file(s) by checking the box on the left, and then go to the Actions menu and choose Download.
6. After the file(s) have been downloaded to your local machine, transfer into Advantage.
NOTE: If you find that only one file is being downloaded after selecting multiple files to download, please make sure the browser is set up to Allow Pop-ups. For more information, see article AppStream - Downloading Multiple Files in Chrome, Firefox, or Edge.
NOTE: If using FileZilla to transfer your files from your local please adjust the following settings:
- Set FTP type to binary
- Uncheck "treat files without extension as ASCII files"
- Uncheck "treat dotfiles as ASCII files"
