AppStream - How to use My Files to upload, download, and move files

In AppStream, Freewheel apps cannot directly access files from a computer or network drive. Instead, the My Files tool allows the transfer of files from a computer or network drive to AppStream, and vice versa. When connected to an AppStream streaming session, the My Files tool allows files to be stored in a folders called Temporary Files and Home Folder. Files stored in a user's Temporary Files folder or Home Folder folder cannot be viewed/accessed by other users. A user's Freewheel app can access files in the Temporary Files folder and the Home Folder folder for import. The files in either folder can also be moved to a folder in the Strata drive (aka S Drive) for later use. This article serves as a guide for using the My Files tool.

**WARNING: When the streaming session ends, files in the Temporary Files folder will be removed. The files that exist in the Home Folder folder will remain for 10 days before being removed. Removed files cannot be restored/recovered.

Freewheel support can't recover or restore any files or folders removed in Temporary Files after a session that has ended.

It will depend on your browser. If your AppStream session is still open when you return to AppStream, then the files will still be there. Again, we strongly recommend moving or downloading necessary files from Temporary Files immediately.
