AppStream - How to print to PDF or XPS
Printing documents in AppStream is fast and easy. When printing a document the print job is redirected to a separate tab in the browser as a PDF, and the printer that is connected to your local computer can print the document. No printer driver needs to be installed to print documents during Freewheel app sessions. The recommended browsers Google Chrome, Firefox, and Safari have the ability to print PDF documents. If using Microsoft Edge, documents are generated and saved as XPS files. The XPS files can then be printed via XPS Viewer. Use the following as a printing guide.
Printing PDF Documents
Google Chrome, Firefox, and Safari have the ability to print PDF documents. Some Freewheel apps allow direct printing by using an available Print button. Some apps have a print option in their corresponding Print Preview screen. For this example, the View-Web Report will be used to demonstrate printing.
Click the Print button to display the Print dialog.
In the Print dialog, select the DCV Printer option and click Print.
The PDF document will display in a new browser tab. Click the Print icon on the top-right corner to continue printing.
In the Destination dropdown, choose your available printer and then click Print.
Alternatively, the generated report can be downloaded to local storage or OneDrive. Click the Download button on the top-right corner.
In the Save As dialog, choose a folder location to save the PDF, update the File name field, and click Save.

Printing XPS Documents
When using Microsoft Edge documents will be generated as XPS files rather than PDFs. The XPS files can then be opened in XPS Viewer and printed.
For this example, the View-Web Report will be used to demonstrate printing.
Click the Print button to display the Print dialog.
In the Print dialog, select the DCV Printer option and click Print.
The document will download as an XPS file from Microsoft Edge.
After opening the document in XPS Viewer, click the Print icon to print.
In the Print popup, choose your printer in the Destination dropdown and click Print.
Alternatively, the generated report can be downloaded to local storage or OneDrive. Click File and then Save As on the top-left corner.
In the Save As dialog, choose a folder location to save the PDF, update the File name field, and click Save.

Enabling XPS Viewer in Windows
An XPS file is a document format which is used for printing or sharing (much like PDF files). The XPS Viewer is an application used to view and print the XPS files. In the event that XPS Viewer is not enabled on your Windows operating system, the following steps can be used to enable the application.
On the left end of the taskbar, select the Start icon and click Settings (the gear icon.)
In Settings, click on Apps.
In Apps & Features, click on Optional features.
The Optional features screen will display.
Scroll to search and click on XPS Viewer.
Click on Install to install XPS Viewer.
After the installation of XPS Viewer completes, XPS documents generated in Microsoft Edge can be printed.

Troubleshooting Error "Page Can't Be Found"
If using AppStream in Google Chrome and printing reports, a similar error message page as shown below may be encountered. This is caused by the Google Chrome extension "Adobe Acrobat: PDF edit, convert, sign tools" added within the browser.
To resolve the issue, please use the following steps to remove the Google Chrome extension:
1. Click the Google Chrome More button (thee-dot button), click Extensions and then click Manage Extensions.
2. In the Chrome Extensions page, click Remove in the Google Chrome extension "Adobe Acrobat: PDF edit, convert, sign tools".
3. Click Remove on the Chrome confirmation prompt. Click through any other confirmations (if prompted.)
4. Confirm that the extension no longer exists in the Google Chrome Extensions page. Afterward, retry printing the report in the Strata tab.
**NOTE: If the removal of the Google Chrome extension is not allowed or not wanted, the alternative is to open a Chrome tab in incognito mode, login to AppStream, generate the report, and print to the DCV printer. The Chrome incognito mode tab does not utilize the Google Chrome extension and generates the PDF document in a new tab for printing to the local computer.
